About Us

Who we are

Connectors e.V. is a German non-profit organisation and collaborative platform connecting people, organisations, and their ideas across Europe and the South Caucasus.

As an educational and practice-oriented organization, we work at the intersection of peace education, conflict transformation, youth engagement, research, and dialogue. We create spaces where local and international perspectives come together to strengthen dialogue, trust and cooperation.

Connectors e.V. is a registered association (eingetragener Verein) based in Germany (Registration No. VR 704597).

We believe that peace is not abstract. It is shaped by everyday relationships, participation, communication, justice, and the ability of people to engage constructively with differences and conflict. Lasting peace is not only shaped through political agreements. It grows when people have the opportunity to meet, listen, learn from one another, and work together across differences. By connecting grassroots initiatives with international expertise, and linking theory with practice, we help build resilient communities and sustainable partnerships.

Through international exchanges, Training of Trainers, study visits, youth-led initiatives, participatory research, methodology development and collaborative projects, we support youth workers, educators, peacebuilders, researchers, civil society organisations, women, and young people, particularly those from conflict-affected communities.

Our work focuses on turning complex ideas into practical tools, accessible methodologies, and meaningful learning experiences that people can apply in their own communities and professional environments to contribute to more peaceful, inclusive, and constructive societies.

Together, we connect for peace.

Mission and Vision

Mission and vision

Our mission

Our mission is to make peacebuilding and conflict transformation practical, accessible, and relevant to people's lived realities.

We do this by:

  • developing practical educational approaches,
  • supporting interdisciplinary collaboration,
  • creating spaces for exchange and dialogue,
  • strengthening networks and partnerships,
  • empowering young people and professionals,
  • and translating theory into meaningful practice.

Our vision

We envision peaceful, inclusive, and just societies in which people are empowered to participate meaningfully, engage across differences, and actively shape the conditions of coexistence.

We strive for a world where peacebuilding is not limited to experts or institutions, but becomes part of everyday life.

Our approach

What makes us different

Our approach connects practical peacebuilding, education, dialogue, and reflection with the realities of the people and communities we work with.

Practice-Oriented Approach

We focus not only on ideas, but on how those ideas can be applied in real life, communities, and educational spaces. Our work prioritizes practical methodologies, transferable skills, and concrete tools that people can meaningfully use in their everyday environments.

Bridging Theory and Practice

We believe that peacebuilding should not remain abstract or disconnected from lived realities. Our work combines strong theoretical understanding with practical approaches that translate complex concepts into accessible and experience-based learning.

Diverse Perspectives

Our members and partners come from different countries, professions, generations, and social backgrounds, including conflict-affected contexts. We value diversity of experiences and believe that meaningful dialogue and innovation emerge through encounters across differences.

Context Awareness

We do not believe in one-size-fits-all approaches to peacebuilding. Every society, community, and conflict context carries its own history, sensitivities, and realities. We therefore prioritize locally grounded, adaptable, and context-sensitive approaches in all areas of our work.

Educational and Methodological Focus

A strong focus of our work is developing methodologies, educational resources, and learning processes that are engaging, practical, and relevant for different target groups. We place particular emphasis on how learning happens, not only on what is taught.

Collaborative Spirit

Connectors is designed as a collaborative platform for exchange, co-creation, learning, and mutual support. We aim to create meaningful spaces where practitioners, educators, researchers, and young people can connect, grow, and contribute together.

Reflection and Quality

We place strong emphasis on reflection, evaluation, learning, and continuous improvement. Our work is grounded in critical thinking, self-reflection, and quality-oriented practice, allowing us to adapt and develop approaches that are both thoughtful and impactful.

Human-Centered Peacebuilding

We believe peacebuilding is deeply connected to emotions, relationships, communication, and personal growth. Alongside structural and political dimensions, we recognize the importance of empathy, emotional awareness, non-violence, and human connection in transforming conflicts and societies.

Realistic and Grounded Approach

We approach peacebuilding with honesty and awareness of real societal complexities, including inequality, exclusion, polarization, and questions of justice and security. We aim to make peace work more relatable, accessible, and connected to people's everyday experiences.

A Community, Not Only an Organization

We strive to create more than projects or professional networks. Connectors is also a space of belonging, where people can participate authentically, share ideas openly, support one another, and contribute in ways that reflect their own strengths and experiences.
